NOW600 National Micros
Battarbee and Slough Sweep! Landry and Alvarez Ace Leroy Strother Memorial at Gulf Coast Speedway!
ALVIN, Texas (May 17, 2026) - Karter Battarbee, Audrie Slough, Harley Landry, and Ayden Alvarez aced their respective fields on Saturday in the finale of the Leroy Strother Memorial at Gulf Coast Speedway.
25-NOW600 Non-Wing, 14-NOW600 Restricted, 20-NOW600 Turf Tire, and 16-NOW600 Junior Sprints were in attendance.
In the headline NOW600 Non-Wing Micros division, Karter Battarbee put together a flawless performance from the pole position to claim the 30-lap A-Feature victory. Battarbee held off a charging Anthony Reaves, who advanced from fifth to finish second, while Caiden Mitchell completed the podium after starting sixth. Anthony Rea drove to fourth, while Dustin Hamelmann earned hard charger honors by storming from 17th to fifth. Oscar Aguilera was equally impressive, climbing from 18th to sixth, with Rachel Zabawa advancing from 13th to seventh. KayDee Howard also put together a strong drive from 24th to eighth. Earlier in the evening, heat race wins went to Reaves, Allen Hazell, and Rea.
The Restricted Micros feature belonged to Audrie Slough, who led wire-to-wire from the front row to capture the 20-lap main event victory. Corbin Weekly delivered one of the best runs of the night, slicing from 10th to second at the finish, while Spencer Gatlin rounded out the top three. Oran Whatley and Brantley Queeney completed the top five after solid feature performances. Harley Knox crossed sixth ahead of Laney McNeil and Ben Knox Jr. Heat race victories earlier in the night were claimed by Whatley and Knox.
Junior Sprint competition saw Ayden Alvarez score the feature victory after starting second in the 15-lap main event. Kase Martin made an impressive charge from fifth to finish runner-up, while pole sitter Jett Swindoll settled for third after leading the field to green. Hudson Jordan and Hayes Perry completed the top five. Bradley Pounds, Brody Kritzler, and Greyson Brown all turned in solid top-10 efforts in a competitive field. Martin and Pounds captured the evening’s heat race victories.
The Turf Tire Micros division capped off the evening with one of the most entertaining races of the night. Harley Landry raced from third to the victory in the 30-lap feature, but much of the attention centered on Chris Russell’s incredible run from 17th to second. Bubba Runnels charged from 10th to third, while Brian Caldwell and Harley Knox completed the top five. Chad Chamberlain, Brian Perry, and Darren Anderson Jr. all worked their way into strong finishing positions as well. Heat race wins went to Connor Chamberlain, Allen Hazell, and Landry.
