Flud Earns Three Wins During Pete Frazier Memorial at Port City Raceway

Inside Line Promotions – TULSA, Okla. (Sept. 7, 2021) – Frank Flud surpassed the 25-win mark thanks to a trio of feature victories last weekend during the 22nd annual Pete Frazier Memorial hosted by Port City Raceway.

Flud was victorious in all three divisions he raced in – in Winged ‘A’ Class and Outlaw on Friday and Non-Wing on Saturday – during the marquee event that featured the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division. The three wins give him 27 this season.

“We had strong runs all weekend and we were competitive every time we hit the track,” he said. “With the rain delays on Saturday we misjudged some of the track prep and we were off a little, but you really can’t be too upset pulling off three wins and three top fives.”

Flud’s Winged ‘A’ Class and Outlaw wins as well as a run from 11th to fourth in the Non-Wing main event on Friday locked him into Saturday’s feature in each division.

“I think we had two rain delays throughout Saturday night,” he said. “We just didn’t set ourselves up like we should have. In Non-Wing it took us a while to get the lead. Once we got the lead we kept a steady gap and didn’t look back.

“In Winged ‘A’ Class we had a really good run going, but I was way too tight to really roll the corners like I needed to. We couldn’t get around traffic as well as we should have and that’s when (Kris) Carroll capitalized on our mistake with two laps to go.

“I was good, but too tight on restarts in the Outlaw feature. We had a restart and Trey (Robb) was able to get underneath me. I was too tight to be able to race him back. I had to lift and he was able to turn under me. We were the same speed, but once he got around me I wasn’t fast enough to get back by him. But if there’s a guy I don’t mind running second to it’s him.”

Flud finished second in both the Winged ‘A’ Class and Outlaw features on Saturday to give him 60 top fives this season.

He plans on returning to Port City Raceway this Saturday.
