Arkoma Speedway Hosting Lucas Oil NOW600 Cup on November 3-4 For 2018 Season Finale

DRUMRIGHT, Okla. (August 24, 2018) – The final weekend of action for the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass, the series will descend on Arkoma Speedway on November 3-4 for The Cup and Season Finale.

The Cup will kick things off on Saturday, November 3. First introduced in 2017 as a three-night event, the 2018 edition will feature a one-day format. Saturday’s Cup will be split into a day show and a night show. The day show will feature heats and semi features for 20 drivers to lock into the evening program.

Racing will also take place on Sunday, as the 2018 season concludes and the Lucas Oil NOW600 National Champions will be crowned.

The Cup Format - Saturday, November 3:

Afternoon Show-

Drivers will draw in for Heat Race starting positions.

The Top 14 in passing points will lock themselves into Saturday's Night Show.

Everyone else will fall into a Semi with the Top 6 racing their way into the show.

Night Show-

Cup Main 1: The Top 14 that locked in from the heat races will be split into two group qualifying sessions. Each session will be one-minute long. Drivers will be lined up straight off time. The six that transferred from the Semi’s will line straight up.

Cup Main 2: Heads up from Cup Main 1 finish with a six-car inversion.

Cup Main 3: Heads up from Cup Main 2 finish with a six-car inversion.

Each Cup Main will be 15 laps in distance.

The Cup Points:

The winner is determined via overall scores from the three Cup Mains. Points are rewarded Olympic-style, meaning a win gets 1 point, a second gets 2, etc.

The driver with the lowest score after competing in all three Cup Mains will be the winner and standard NOW600 payout will be paid. In the event of a tie for the win there will be a five lap win it or wear it dash to determine the winner. If there is a tie for any other place in the field the tie breaker will be the Cup Main 3 finish.

Sunday, November 4:

2018 Lucas Oil NOW600 National Series season championship. Full show and standard format will be utilized.
