Frank Flud Goes Three for Three in NOW600 Non-Wing Competition at Creek County

SAPULPA, Okla. (August 20, 2015) – The Non-Wing arm of the National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass.com visited the Creek County Speedway on Thursday night , which saw Frank Flud go three for three in competition sweeping the night during the inaugural Topless at the Creek.

Flud who redrew seventh, raced his way up the field in the opening laps of the 20-lap feature event would have to chase down pole setter, Brad Best. Best would take the advantage of his pole spot and charge out to the race lead. Steven Shebester who redrew in the fifth starting spot would also have to chase down Best and would take the point at the middle of the 20-lap feature event. On the white flag lap, Shebester would spin in front of the field and would pull off the track and gave the top spot to Flud who race his way to victory.

Roy Maxwell advanced six spots to post his best finish with the NOW600 Micro Series. Brad Best fell back two positions to come home in the third spot. After a few months absence, Hunter Fischer came home in the fourth spot after starting third. Outside pole setter, Billy Lawhead rounded out the top five. Ace McCarthy was the nights “Hard Charger” starting in the 19th starting position would race his way up 13 positions to the sixth spot. McCarthy’s team mate, Ray Barnes also charged up through the field 11 positions to cross home in seventh. Cord Dodson would finish in the eighth spot after redrawing sixth. Brian Penick was ninth and Bailey Hughes rounded out the top 10.

The National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by MyRacePass.com will take a break while officials look to book atleast one more event before the end of the 2015 campaign.
