Freeman Returning to NOW600 Action in Oklahoma After 10th Top Five of Season

Inside Line Promotions – GRAND PRAIRIE, Texas (Aug. 11, 2014) – Cody Freeman is returning to Oklahoma this weekend for another test against some of the top micro sprint drivers.

“We’re ready to go to Oklahoma,” he said. “We’re excited to visit the NOW600 Series and to see Port City. The level of competition in Oklahoma is strong. It’s a great group of drivers who are going to race you hard and not give you an inch, but at the same time will race you clean.”

Freeman is scheduled to compete this Thursday at Creek County Speedway in Sapulpa and on Friday at Outlaw Motorsports Park in Wainwright. Both races are with the NOW600 Series. Freeman will wrap up his weekend on Saturday at Port City Raceway in Tulsa.

He was in contention for a top 10 at each of those three tracks when the team made its first visit of the season to Oklahoma in June.

“We went up there last time with good goals and intentions,” he said. “We’re looking for a little redemption after losing a motor at Port City like we did.”

Freeman is coming off his 10th top five of the season and his fifth top five at Mountain Creek Speedway last Friday.

“There’s a part of us that wants to call it a disappointing weekend, but there’s a part that wants to call it a success with another top five,” he said. “The track never dried out like it usually does. Our car has never been satisfied on a heavy and tacky track.”

After advancing from fifth to fourth place in his heat race on the fast track, Freeman lined up on the outside of the second row for the main event.

“Both the heat race and feature went green to checkered,” he said. “Once the green happened nothing really happened out there. There wasn’t much passing for anyone. It was locked down.”

Freeman maintained a top five for the entire race before he finished fourth.

“It was another solid run and gives us momentum as we return to Oklahoma,” he said.
