Crouch Captures First Career Outlaw Micro Sprint Win and Posts Career-Best Midget Result

Inside Line Promotions – SAPULPA, Okla. (June 16, 2020) – Brenham Crouch is coming off a career-best weekend.

Crouch picked up his first career Outlaw micro sprint feature victory and he posted his best-ever result behind the wheel of a Keith Kunz Motorsports midget during five straight nights of competition in the Midwest.

The busy week began last Wednesday when Crouch participated in the opening night of Mo State Construction Sooner 600 Week presented by Hi-Plains Building Division at Caney Valley Speedway in Caney, Kan. Crouch charged from 16th to ninth in the Winged ‘A’ Class main event and from 14th to ninth in the Stock Non-Wing feature with the Lucas Oil National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division.

Consistency continued the ensuing night at Creek County Speedway, where Crouch placed 17th in the Winged ‘A’ Class feature before rallying from sixth to second place in the Outlaw A Main.

“I was pretty happy with two top 10s to start off Sooner 600 Week,” he said. “I could have done better in the heats, but by feature-time we had maximum improvement for the circumstances. Overall I was happy with what we did the first two nights.”

Crouch then ventured to Lake Ozark Speedway in Eldon, Mo., on Friday for the first night of a POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League doubleheader. He powered from 21st to a career-best 16th place on Friday before topping that result with a 15th-place showing on Saturday.

“There’s a lot of room for improvement, but we’re definitely making progress,” he said. “These big tracks can be lane sensitive. If you aren’t consistent it will hurt you. I think we made progress during the weekend. On Saturday we were running 10th or 11th and had a flat tire so we had to restart at the back. It was a good rebound to come back to 15th.”

The weekend wrapped up with Crouch joining the Sooner 600 Week finale on Sunday at Creek County Speedway. He was strong throughout the night, capturing his first career win in the Outlaw division and recording a sixth-place result in Winged ‘A’ Class competition.

“The Outlaw car was on point,” he said. “We had some good guys who are always up front running so winning is an accomplishment. I’m super confident that we are heading in the right direction.

“In the Winged ‘A’ Class feature we led two or three laps and then (Frank) Flud got by us. We were running second and hit a rut. It upset the car and we fell back to sixth. It was still a good result given the competition and circumstances.”

Crouch will take this weekend off before resuming midget competition on June 26 at Charleston Speedway in Charleston, Ill., and June 27 at Tri-State Speedway in Haubstadt, Ind., with the POWRi Lucas Oil National Midget League.
