Bryan Hulbert – GARDEN CITY, Kan. (July 3, 2023) Back to racing Monday night at Airport Raceway, Brant Woods, Trey Zorn, and Cash Lacombe added their name to the list of winners with the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division.

Leading start to finish for his first A-Class win, Brant Woods shot the top of the track to the lead and went unchallenged. Winning by 2.077-seconds, the runner-up spot went to sixth, starting Ace Moore. Cole Esgar worked to third from seventh, with Colby Sokol fourth. Brayden Kongdara crossed in fifth.

Also, leading flag-to-flag Trey Zorn collected his second career Dirt2Media NOW600 presented by Hi-Plains Building Division win, and first in Non-Wing. Adding to his Restricted win in 2020, Zorn crossed with 1.090-seconds to spare over Colby Sokol. Jason Friesen, Hunter Kohn, and Jayden Friesen completed the top five.

Having led numerous events without a win, that changed for Cash Lacombe in the Restricted feature. Getting moved to third after jumping the start, the No. 97 battled back to retake the point on Lap 10 from Cale Lagroon. Keeping pace from there, Lacombe pulled his lead to 2.910-seconds over Lagroon. Braxton Weger moved from ninth to third, with Caron Bolden up four spots. Dawson Woods made up the top five.

Thirty-nine events through Sunday make-up events, and Monday’s program, 379 green-flag laps were turned with five first-time winners out of six A-Features. Monday’s event saw 98 entries.

The next event for the Dirt2Media National Open Wheel 600 Series presented by Hi-Plains Building Division is Thursday, July 6, at Rush County Speedway in La Crosse, Kan. then the Steve King Memorial at Dodge City Raceway Park on Friday, July 7, and Saturday, July 8.

The 2023 season marks the 11th year of competition for the National Open Wheel 600 Series. Anchored by the Dirt2Media NOW600 National Championship, the NOW600 Series comprises several regional tours and sanctioned racetracks. The NOW600 National Championship features three divisions of 600cc micro sprints at each event: Stock Non-Wing, Winged A-Class, and Restricted 'A' Class.
