Eric Smith Scores NOW600 Tel-Star Desert Region at Sandia Speedway
ALBUQUERQUE, New Mexico (April 28, 2019) - Eric Smith scored the second event of the season with the Tel-Star Technologies NOW600 Desert Region at Sandia Speedway on Saturday night.
A record high 12 entries signed in for the Desert Region of the National Open Wheel 600 Series on a beautiful Saturday night in the big town.
Smith started on the outside of the front row and would go on to claim the feature event win over current points leader, Caleb Stelzig. Bree Franchini crossed in the third spot with Joshua Huish who started tenth coming home in fourth. The top five rounded out with Kaylee Dons.
Sixth went to Bradley Huish with Randy Turner claiming the seventh spot. Jonathan O'Brien coming home eighth. Ninth went to Warren Tarr with the top ten rounding out with Christian White.
In heat race competition it was Franchini and Dons picking up the victories.
The NOW600 Desert Region will get a few weeks off before the return to action at the Fairgrounds Speedway in Cortez, Colorado on Saturday, May 18.
